Overview
The Market Data Analyst role requires knowledge of Market Data operations with relevance to activities within an asset management company. You will be working with an experienced team with a broad range of stakeholders and responsibilities, and you should be a strong team player.ResponsibilitiesSupport the contract renewals process through pipeline tracking via our high/low and Front to Back commercial processes.Engage in standard BAU processes of ordering data, with a focus on handling Index data requests and procurement.Daily monitoring of the market data request queue and assignment to the relevant Commercial Managers; handle BAU requests when appropriate.Manage the contractual renewal pipeline with a focus on cost rationalisation and demand management.Maintain business relationships and vendor liaisons as the owner of the commercial relationships with providers.Provide support for service enablements and act as an escalation point for service and vendor issues.Advise potential and existing users on vendor policies and market data license restrictions.Monitor application data consumption and perform inventory updates and related administration, including contract alarms.Weekly monitoring of the HR Leaver process and reassign or cancel services where possible.Knowledge, Experience And QualificationsA proven track record in Market Data is preferred, including experience in Market Data commercials, negotiations and compliance awareness.Strong working knowledge of procurement of Index data, including its use, commercial packaging by key providers, policies, usage rights and related challenges.Experience working with vendors at strategic and tactical levels, including Bloomberg, Factset, LSEG, S&P, FTSE and MSCI.Awareness of regulatory change impacts, particularly in the Index space.Experience with market data systems such as FITS/Optimize, DART, DACS would be beneficial.Excellent communication and relationship skills; attention to detail and a flexible attitude.Ability to work to tight deadlines, especially for diarised processes.Strong MS-Office skills, especially Excel.Good knowledge of Investment Management and how we make money.
