Our client is an award‑winning Strategic Business Unit founded in 2013, focused on humanitarian sector development through capacity building, research and leadership development. The organisation operates on a hybrid working model and is actively recruiting for a Marketing, Media & Communications Manager based in Birmingham.
Purpose of the role
The Marketing, Media & Communications Manager will lead the strategic development and delivery of the Academy’s marketing, communications, and media initiatives. The role will increase visibility, engage stakeholders, strengthen the brand, and support the Academy’s mission to influence humanitarian practice globally.
Responsibilities
- Manage external and internal communications.
- Oversee digital and traditional media channels.
- Develop and execute campaigns that reflect values and objectives.
- Plan, coordinate and deliver marketing campaigns and communication projects end‑to‑end.
- Interpret engagement metrics and provide actionable insights.
- Ensure brand consistency across all channels.
- Maintain project and budget management, including monitoring and financial tasks.
- Lead and mentor staff or contractors as needed.
Qualifications
- Degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, Public Relations or related field.
- Professional digital marketing, media management or PR qualifications desirable.
- Proven experience in marketing, communications or media management, preferably in NGO, education or development sectors.
- Demonstrated success in digital marketing, social media management and content creation.
- Experience with branding, campaign development and stakeholder engagement.
- Familiarity with website management, SEO and digital analytics tools.
- Strong project and budget management experience.
- Track record of measurable results and high professionalism.
- Exceptional written, verbal and visual communication skills.
- Strong analytical, prioritisation and scheduling skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and stakeholder liaison.
- Leadership and team management experience.
- High digital literacy with Microsoft 365, social media tools, etc.
- Previous experience in NGO, education or development sectors is advantageous.
- Additional languages, especially Arabic, beneficial.
