We have a rewarding opportunity for a Co-ordinator – Mediation Service to be part of our Special Educational Needs & Disability (SEND) Mediation and Disagreement Resolution Service (MDRS) based in central Stockport.

This position is part time and for a 12-month fixed term.

The MDRS are SEND specialists providing a neutral and impartial SEND mediation service. They deliver high-quality, professional, responsive, approachable, and supportive services.

Salary: £16,815.00 per year (pro-rated from £24,700.00), with an hourly rate of £12.67.

Hours: 22.5 hours per week, flexible working with the Service Manager, Monday to Friday.

Location: Hybrid working—combination of 1-2 days per week at the Newbridge Centre, Cromer Street, Stockport SK1, and home working. You must reside within reasonable distance of Stockport for accessibility.

Our Mediation service supports families and individuals in disputes regarding a young person’s education and healthcare plans, facilitating positive resolutions.

As a Co-ordinator – Mediation Service, you will be the first point of contact for families and young people seeking support. Your responsibilities include providing administrative support, mediation advice in line with SEND legislation, and taking detailed notes from families.

About you…

Do you have experience working with families supporting children with special educational needs, along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills?

Are you an organized, methodical team player?

You will maintain databases and spreadsheets to support management and contractual reporting.

Can you communicate effectively with diverse audiences, including colleagues, parents, Local Authorities, and professionals?

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with databases are essential, as the role is technology-focused.

Are you able to prioritize work, manage your workload to meet deadlines, and handle confidential issues sensitively?

You will adhere to GDPR and undertake other administrative duties as needed to ensure efficient service delivery.
