The Nottingham Clinical Trials Unit (NCTU) is recruiting a Medical Statistician to contribute to trial design, conduct, analysis and dissemination as part of multidisciplinary trial teams. The post is offered on a fixed-term contract for an initial period of 24 months, with potential extension as capacity grows. The role can be full-time or part-time (minimum 29 hours per week) and may be office-based or hybrid (minimum 2–3 days per week on campus).

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Contribute to trial design, conduct, analyses and reporting.
  • Develop or continue to develop research interests and contribute to trials methodology research within NCTU.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of training courses on research methods offered by the unit.

Qualifications

The post is available at two levels:

  • Level 4 – suitable for statisticians with some experience in design, setup, analyses and reporting of randomised controlled trials.
  • Level 4a – suitable for candidates with less experience or those recently obtaining a postgraduate qualification in Medical Statistics this year.

  • Location: University Park, Nottingham
  • Salary: £31,387 to £46,485 per annum pro-rata depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.
