We are seeking enthusiastic and compassionate Band 5 Registered Mental Health Nurses (RMNs), Occupational Therapists (OTs), or Social Work professionals to join our Exeter City Core CMHTa team known for its dynamic, innovative, and supportive culture.

Main duties of the job
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred care to adults with complex mental health needs in the community.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement care plans.
- Conduct assessments, risk evaluations, and reviews in line with clinical governance and safeguarding protocols.
- Provide therapeutic interventions and recovery-focused support.
- Liaise with service users, carers, and external agencies to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Participate in team meetings, supervision, and ongoing professional development.

Job responsibilities
The post holder will deliver high quality mental health services, The role involves managing a definedcaseload. The focus will be providingcontinuous assessment and treatment to people with mental health difficulties and theircarers. This will include key working and care management functions, liaison with statutory andnon-statutory organisations. The postholder will be an effective member of the multi-disciplinary team.
Person Specification
Qualifications
- An appropriate up to date professional mental health qualification eg RMN, OT or social worker on the appropriate professional body register and hold current registration with no restrictions.
- It will be an essential requirement for newly qualified social workers to demonstrate that they have completed The Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) before commencing in post or there will be a requirement to complete this within the first 12 months of employment with the Trust.
- Evidence of relevant continuing professional development
- Training to level 2 in Safeguarding children and young people: roles and competencies for Health Care staff
- Post registration training in relevant field
Experience
- Experiencing working with individuals with serious and enduring mental health conditions
- Experiencing working collaboratively with MDT, multi-agency and service users
- Managing a caseload of clients with a range of mental health problems.
- Demonstrates sound theoretical knowledge of mental health practice;
- Working within a community setting in either the statutory or voluntary sector.
- Providing clinical supervision.
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary and multi-agency environment.
- Demonstrates experience of, and relevant professional practice qualification in mentoring/assessing students and learners
Knowledge
- An understanding of the NSF and Mental Health Act/ Mental Health Capacity Act requirements.
- An understanding of Community Mental Health Framework
- Understanding of recovery principles in Mental Health
- IT literate
Skills & Abilities
- Excellent communication skills including the ability to engage with clients experiencing a wide range of mental health problems.
- Ability to communicate with a wide range of professionals from various settings.
- Able to own problems and get involved in the solutions.
- Ability to assess risk.
- Able to prioritise work to reflect changing needs.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to manage own time.
- Ability to work flexibly.
- Ability to work to deadlines
