Overview

My client is a well-established M&E engineering company based in Central London, seeking an experienced MEP Design Manager to support them on a long-term project. The role will involve hybrid working and the project is expected to span several years.

Role details

• Rate up to £450 a day Outside IR35 (Weekly Payments)
• Role based in Central London (Hybrid Working Conditions)
• Long Term Project that will run for a number of years

Role Responsibilities

• Forming and maintaining a standards and regulations tracker based on the works information and for ongoing baseline monitoring to ensure compliance and consistency.
• Strong knowledge of MEPH systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, communications, and fire safety design
• Contribution to the setup and maintenance of design assurance processes, including development of V&V (Verification and Validation) matrices and Design Management/Technical Assurance Plans.
• Lead and document regular design reviews in line with the Design Management Plan and Technical Assurance Plan.
• Monitor compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices
• Input into/utilise the pre-construction Technical Risk Review (TRR) to identify, assess, and manage design risks. Escalate critical risks and mitigation measures to the project team as needed.
• Understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards, including BREEAM.

Qualifications / Skills

• Experience in MEP design management across large-scale projects
• Strong capability in design assurance, risk management, and regulatory compliance
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
