What you'll be doing

Typical accountabilities for a MEP Project Manager within Balfour Beatty are:

  • Delivery of the BBK business strategy and objectives on tenders and outperform on key success measures
  • Manage commercial and business risks to achieve targets
  • Understand the relevant commercial terms and conditions for each project/tender
  • Pro-actively manage the customer relationship during tender and delivery, including change and decision making to effectively manage expectations
  • Leadership of Zero Harm and drive for continuous improvement across SHEQ
  • Collaborate to ensure best opportunities for BBK and efficient resource utilisation
  • Demonstrate clear leadership and the right leadership behaviours
  • Develop and support operational teams to be successful by talking positively, listening actively and encouraging constantly
  • Work with Contract Managers and ELT to deliver BBK strategic objectives and foster a one-team culture
  • Plan, control and manage delivery of projects within cost, timescales and quality
  • Instil a strong safety culture and develop project teams to take personal responsibility through strong leadership
  • Ensure compliance with business policies, procedures and governance
  • Day-to-day management of client expectations while promoting the value we bring

Who we're looking for

Typical skills, knowledge and experience to be a successful MEP Project Manager within Balfour Beatty are:

  • Experience of management and delivery of M&E projects
  • Strong people management
  • Proven track record in tendering and managing complex projects, including sub-contractors
  • Commercial awareness with knowledge of budgetary and financial control
  • Excellent relationship management skills
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, able to tease out sensitive issues and lead cross-functional teams towards solutions
