An exciting opportunity has arisen in the UK layout team within Cirrus Logic for a Layout Design Engineer to help with the layout implementation and development of tools and methodologies. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate first-level layout experience to support design engineers and physical design engineers. • Complete layout and verification of analog and mixed-signal designs using industry standard CAD tools
• Work closely with design engineers to achieve optimal circuit performance and produce high-quality layout designs
• Create layout floorplans and provide area estimates with accuracy
• Provide schedule estimates and updates to senior staff and management with clarity
• Collaborate with engineers and leads, to deliver efficient floorplans and layout designs
• Contribute to complex IC development projects and prepare documents for knowledge sharing

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics/Computer Engineering or related program
• Knowledge of semiconductor physics
• Knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes
• Ability to solve layout design problems and provide innovative solutions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working in a team environment set-up
• Proven record of completing tasks on time or ahead of schedule while maintaining quality

• Ability to layout simple to complex analog circuitry in a size/time constrained environment
• Comfortable with various IC design CAD tools and foundry PDKs
• Knowledge of analog, digital, and mixed-signal fundamental layout techniques
• Understanding of ESD, Latch-up, Layout parasitics, EMIR, LDE, DFM and Antenna effect
• Proficiency in floor planning activities with block assembly, and block-level routing
• Understand layout matching, isolation, shielding, and the use of dummy devices
• Demonstrated ability to contribute ideas for improved efficiency and automation of layout tasks

This position is based in our Edinburgh office, UK

This is a hybrid remote position and will follow a 2+ day in-office work schedule, with in-office days based on business needs and team preference. You must be based within commutable distance of the work location listed on the job posting, or willing to relocate prior to beginning employment with Cirrus Logic.
