Mobile Hose Engineer Finning (UK) Ltd is the largest CAT dealership in the UK and Ireland. We are looking for a Mobile Hose Engineer to provide quick site‑based response for hose making and replacement services to commercial and industrial customers. Position Overview As a Hose Engineer you will be tasked with providing quick site‑based response for hose making and replacement services; you will produce certified clean Caterpillar hoses, provide hose and coupling knowledge support to service, parts and customer operations, and follow Caterpillar HIS for hose builds. Major Job Functions
Receive customer service requests, assess response time, and inform customers of situation. Manufacture hose assemblies to meet customer needs (both internal and external). Maintain adequate levels of stock in the FHS van and ensure repair equipment is safe and functional. Develop increased business for FHS through good customer relations and awareness of competitive activities. Manage work orders to ensure timely invoicing and manage costs.
Specific Skills
Good project management and planning/organisation skills. Excellent influencing and networking skills. Excellent IT skills, including intermediate Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Ability to interpret large amounts of data and information to support planning and decisions.
Knowledge
Deep understanding of general service manuals, SIS and HIS from the OEM. Practical knowledge of tooling and specialised equipment to conduct repairs and assembly of hydraulic hoses. Hydraulic and/or mechanical fitting knowledge. Use of specialist hose cutting and crimp tooling.
Accountability
Adhere to agreed job times. Ensure the highest quality of finished product. Ensure positive feedback and nil customer complaints. Constant awareness of SHEQ obligations and zero accidents by maintaining a tidy and safe working area/vehicle. Carry out pre‑use checks on equipment.
Education and Experience
Min 3 years engineering or service experience, preferably in the hydraulic hose industry. Customer facing experience. H&S awareness.
