Mobile Plumbing Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Mobile Plumbing Engineer to deliver high-quality plumbing and building maintenance services across approximately 60 client sites within the Oxford, Reading, Swindon, and Bristol areas. You will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive repairs, fault finding, and installations to ensure all systems are safe, compliant, and fully operational. This is a mobile role that requires a hands‑on professional who can work independently, manage priorities effectively, and deliver an exceptional standard of service to every client.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver planned preventative and reactive maintenance tasks across multiple sites.
- Carry out fault finding, repairs, and installations on a range of plumbing and mechanical systems.
- Perform inspections, testing, and troubleshooting of plumbing equipment in accordance with manufacturer instructions and safety regulations.
- Maintain and repair complex plumbing systems including water heaters, drainage systems, air compressors, and sprinkler systems.
- Install, modify, and repair plumbing systems by interpreting blueprints and technical diagrams.
- Test, repair, replace, and install backflow prevention devices in compliance with local codes.
- Support general mechanical operations, ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records, ordering materials as required.
- Take responsibility for quality, safety, and timely completion of all assigned work.
- Liaise with contractors and issue permits to work as required, ensuring high standards of workmanship and compliance.
Qualifications
- Fully qualified plumber with NVQ or City & Guilds Level 2/3 in Plumbing, Heating, or Mechanical Systems.
- Demonstrated experience in mechanical building services maintenance, including fault finding, repair, and installation.
- Proven background in both reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) within commercial or facilities management environments.
- Strong technical knowledge of plumbing systems, safety regulations, and compliance standards.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Able to work independently and manage multiple sites efficiently.
- Full UK Driving Licence (mobile role with company van, fuel card, and PDA provided).
- Strong communication and customer service skills, maintaining professionalism with clients and colleagues.
