Founded as a spin out from Cambridge University in 2017 with the aim of transferring the technology from the academic lab into a commercial entity. The Role

This is a key role working in the Equipment Engineering team to support the ongoing operation of our MOCVD reactors through maximising tool uptime, performance and providing effective trouble shooting.

Responsibilities and Tasks

• Work within a team of Equipment Engineers to deliver a robust programme of planned preventative maintenance which includes continual maintenance of production and research reactors.
• Take the lead in resolving equipment operating issues through collaborative troubleshooting, solution identification and rapid rectification.
• Implement and manage robust equipment monitoring processes, using data driven decision making to drive optimum equipment performance and reliability.
• Drive continuous improvement through analysis of performance and implementation of upgraded equipment and/or processes to drive up key operational metrics.
• Work collaboratively with equipment users to promote optimal use and handling of equipment and equipment systems to ensure maximum up-time
• Liaise with equipment manufacturers and support partners to resolve issues and keep equipment optimised.
• Always take responsibility for maintaining safe working practices, including the implementation of safe systems of work
• Complete other duties commensurate with the role’s level as requested by your team leader or manager

Education and Qualifications

• Further education level Engineering qualification.

Experience

• Experienced with the maintaining and troubleshooting MOCVD systems.
• Experience with any other semiconductor tool types being a bonus.

Skills and knowledge

• Ability to prioritise work effectively and efficiently to offer the best support to teams.
• Ability to think independently and trouble shoot issues under pressure.

Communication

• Excellent communication skills with the confidence to contribute and encourage ideas generation.
• Effectively communicate technical information, and to report on status of work in a timely manner and to present clearly.

• Responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment by complying with company policies and processes and all relevant regulations including the use of PPE, as appropriate to the level and scope of the role. This includes participation in health and safety training and reporting of any potential hazards or breaches of safety protocols in the appropriate manner.
• The role requires the use of SCBA and full-face respirators on occasion; therefore, the ability to be clean-shaven to ensure a proper facial seal is essential. Full training will be provided
