We currently have an exciting permanent, full-time opportunity to join our Defendant Litigation Team at DLG Legal Services as a Motor Damage Defendant Litigator. The role is based in our Bristol office with hybrid working.

What you’ll be doing

Reporting to a Team Leader, you will be part of a small and successful team, defending litigated motor damage claims from receipt of proceedings to settlement or final hearing.

• Responsible for managing cases to an effective and satisfactory conclusion within service levels and to a targeted outcome.
• Drafting defences, witness statements and instructing counsel where appropriate.
• Reviewing evidence and making offers to settle where appropriate.
• Delivering clear, accurate and succinct advice within relevant timescales and to manage a portfolio of litigated cases.
• Staying abreast of case law and practice.

Our hybrid model offers a "best of both worlds" approach. Colleagues spend at least 2 days a week in the office, depending on role and team.

What you’ll need

• Relevant litigation experience, either from a legal or insurance background (motor industry, personal injury, or fraud).
• Analytical skills to interpret information and identify issues.
• Ability to work under pressure and collaborate within a high-performing team.
• Self-motivation to use initiative and prioritise to meet deadlines.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Flexible and adaptable, with enthusiasm and a passion for getting the right outcome.
• Willingness to learn and develop.
