MST-CAN [Multisystemic Therapy for Child Abuse and Neglect] delivers intensive intervention to families under statutory plans with the aim of keeping children safely at home.
We seek a qualified and experienced professional to join our small, successful team.
If you enjoy working in a challenging yet rewarding role, this could be the job for you.
As an MST-CAN Therapist, you will manage a small caseload, delivering intensive interventions with families in their homes and communities to prevent re-abuse and neglect.
A relevant undergraduate degree is essential, along with knowledge of child abuse and neglect and experience in this area. Experience applying psychological theories and delivering evidence-based interventions like behavioral parenting techniques, CBT, and Motivational Interviewing is also required. The ability to work with children and adults facing issues such as substance misuse, trauma, and mental health difficulties is necessary.
This is a great opportunity to develop your skills as a child and family practitioner within a supportive team environment.
In addition to your salary, you will receive compensation for supporting families outside regular hours, approximately every 1 in 3 weeks, with arrangements made to consider personal commitments. This additional payment is around £4,500 annually.
You will receive full training in the MST model and its adaptations, including five days of MST training, four days of MST-CAN training, and four days of trauma training, which may involve overnight stays.
We encourage applications from all community sections, especially from Black and Minority Ethnic backgrounds and individuals with disabilities, to promote diversity in our workforce.
We may close this vacancy early if sufficient applications are received.
If you have questions about this role or working at Knowsley, please contact Sarah Ritson, MST-CAN Supervisor, at 07810054008 for an informal discussion.
