Responsibilities

As a NZDPU Team Member, you will play a crucial role in developing and improving technical tools, techniques, and workflows for data management within our backend infrastructure. This infrastructure is essential for integrating multi-source data into a unified system that drives our platform. You will also oversee the technical requirements and accountability of our external team, which is responsible for enhancing and maintaining the overall platform. Collaboration with data, product, and technical teams will be necessary to design systems and integrations that promote the alignment of data and domain expertise for scalable technical implementation.

Must Haves

  • Extensive experience working with complex data models, including handling thousands of fields across multiple sources that evolve and expand over time; comfortable managing and manipulating large, intricate datasets and adapting to changes in data structures.
  • Proven track record of shipping solutions through internal and external teams, delivering accessible and impactful products for diverse audiences.
  • Ability to translate industry and team knowledge into a performant data system architecture for web and API-driven applications, validation frameworks, and data transparency systems.
  • Hands-on experience building and deploying Python-based solutions to cloud-based infrastructure, with strong Python knowledge and experience deploying solutions to cloud environments for scalable applications.
  • Technical leadership in system design and architecture, including experience leading the technical design, architecture, and software development lifecycle of complex systems.

Nice to have

  • Experience with corporate emissions and financial data.
  • Experience working with Google Cloud Platform.
