Network Architect

Location: Cheltenham (5 days on site)

At DXC, one of our platinum accounts has an opening for a Network Architect. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter with hands-on engineering experience in Software Defined Networking in a data center environment, and the ability to organise and resolve architectural problems across design, development, implementation, and client engagement activities.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Account Solution Architect to design and implement innovative approaches to problems and challenges.
• Demonstrate deep technical understanding to support engineers in building and developing proofs of concept; design and implement high-availability, high-performance, scalable solutions.
• Shape, evolve and document the architecture underpinning existing platforms and services; lead the transition from legacy systems to cloud-based architectures.
• Engage with project roles to understand the complex business environment, technical context, client requirements, and organisational strategy.
• Advise the customer on the latest technologies and methodologies.

Desirable Skills And Technologies

• Proven track record in complex Network Designs, Network Management and deep troubleshooting principles.
• Deep understanding of Cisco design principles with a data center focus and VMware NSX; other SDN offerings are beneficial.
• Deployment automation technologies.
• Ability to code, especially Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience designing and applying systems leveraging automation technologies.
• Design of large, complex systems including practical experimentation and development skills.
• Technical breadth and depth with strong client engagement skills.
• Deep knowledge in Cisco ACI, VMware NSX, F5 Load-Balancing (GTM, LTM, ASM, APM), Cisco and Palo Alto firewalls, Cisco ISE.
• Knowledge or familiarity with Cisco Hyperflex, Cisco UCS, Dell VxRail, VMware ESX, Azure Stack, Red Hat OpenShift.
