Overview

Network & Infrastructure Capacity Manager role at Computershare, based in Edinburgh with a mix of onsite and flexible working arrangements.

Role

This is a new role in a brand-new team/function. You will help define the team going forward with exposure to a global business and development opportunities. The role supports flexible working arrangements.

Responsibilities

  • Taking ownership and accountability to monitor and forecast compute, storage and network capacity and performance across public cloud, hybrid and on-prem environments.
  • Make data driven recommendations based on historical usage data and forecasts.
  • Model impacts on capacity based on project forecasts and new service implementation plans.
  • Develop capacity models and thresholds to support business growth and continuity, and work with NOC and engineering to implement proactive capacity alerts and responses.
  • Use SolarWinds to visualize network topology and traffic patterns, set thresholds and alerts for link saturation and device health.
  • Automate and provide regular reports to IT Leadership and stakeholders on capacity status, risks, and recommendations.

What you’ll bring

We are looking for a candidate with a wide range of technical expertise across technology towers and a solid understanding of capacity and performance metrics for tracking, analysis and alerting within ITSM processes.

As this is a global role in a complex organisation, you will need excellent communication skills to clearly present information to internal stakeholders, teams and leadership.

Key Skills

  • Experience across storage, compute and networking environments.
  • Cloud experience, particularly Azure.
  • Reporting skills to provide updates and analysis for stakeholders and teams.
  • Experience with PowerBI and Grafana.
  • Ability to gather data via APIs and other methods across technologies.
  • Strong attention to detail and good evaluative judgement.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
