Responsibilities

  • Collaborate in building enterprise network solutions and engineer infrastructure technology to meet security, resilience, sustainability, and operational requirements with observability and guardrails.
  • Use automation to provide testing and a route to live for the product, identifying ways to use new and existing technology tools to enhance performance and remove inefficiencies.
  • Work with colleagues across the bank to share engineering best practices, provide thought leadership, and develop solutions.
  • Lead VXLAN deployments and ensure seamless integration across data centre fabrics.
  • Conduct technical peer reviews of network changes and deployments to ensure quality and consistency; contribute improvements and challenge designs and architectural decisions.

What you’ll do

As a Network Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll contribute to and manage the selection, creation and maintenance of technologies required to meet the needs of our customers, strategic targets and architecture outcomes, along with developing products using modern engineering practices and tools. You’ll collaborate with Product Owners to develop product roadmaps and manage the lifecycle of the team\'s products, support engineered products to respond to customer feedback, new feature requests, resolve production issues and help customers consume our products. You’ll lead VXLAN deployments and ensure seamless integration across data centre fabrics. You’ll conduct technical peer reviews of network changes and deployments to ensure quality and consistency, and proactively contribute improvement ideas, as well as challenging and reviewing designs, solutions and architectural decisions.

Additionally, you’ll:

  • Take a lead role within the team to design and engineer intuitive, self-service infrastructure products
  • Lead in the development of standards for the network infrastructure
  • Develop technical skills through continuous learning and development
  • Contribute to the delivery of infrastructure as code solutions
  • Build an awareness of design thinking tools and techniques with users in order to improve your product
  • Provide operational support for pattern or product related issues
  • Work with key vendors in the delivery of the infrastructure services and technology for the product

The skills you\’ll need

  • Hands-on experience managing large enterprise network environments with 10,000+ devices, with proven design, implementation, and management of enterprise-grade networks using Cisco and Arista platforms (including Arista Fabric with VXLAN on-prem deployment) and knowledge of STP, OSPF, BGP, VXLAN, EVPN
  • Experience in financial services environments, designing, deploying and troubleshooting multicast market data delivery platforms across Cisco and Arista (VXLAN)
  • Experience working in a financial services environment on trader voice infrastructure
  • The ability to work in high pressure environments, specifically responding to and leading on business impacting incidents
  • Strong collaboration skills with a mindset for continuous improvement, peer feedback, and technical leadership
  • Experience working in an agile manner on both operations and projects, with the ability to work independently as part of a larger team
  • Strong collaborative communication skills for articulating technical concepts clearly to business and technical stakeholders
