Network Strategy Manager – NWG (Northumbrian Water Group). Full time 37 hours per week (job share considered). Permanent position. Salary circa £65,000 plus bonus and excellent benefits. Location: Washington / Flexible homeworking.

About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Wastewater Strategic Planning team as a Network Strategy Manager. This role is known internally as Technical Policy Manager. You will be involved in developing plans and strategies, with knowledge of the challenges and trends in the water sector, and experience in a regulated environment. Ideally you will understand Defra, the Environment Agency and OFWAT.

You will:

  • Develop options, appraisals and cost-benefit principles to drive decision making and help ensure performance targets and compliance.
  • Lead innovative solutions, technical research and advances in technologies that support the delivery of ambitious goals.
  • Demonstrate strong people skills to foster collaboration across teams and engage/stakeholders internally and externally to keep NWG at the forefront of best practice and innovation.
  • Represent NWG in industry working groups and collaborate with peers to shape strategies and plans that are endorsed and actionable by operations, investment delivery teams and partners.

About You

We are looking for candidates with experience in strategy development and asset management, and a track record of developing technical reports, policies and strategies. You should have technical knowledge of the operation of the water industry and preferably experience in a regulated environment. You will be able to analyse data from multiple systems to provide an evidence base for decisions and actions, and you will have excellent communication skills with a drive to achieve results.

You should be able to manage a demanding workload, solve problems, work with stakeholders and adapt in a fast-changing environment.
