Company Overview
We are a rapidly growing Lincolnshire UK-based, high investment contract bottling distillery, specialising in premium and craft alcoholic spirits production. With state-of-the-art facilities and a growing reputation for quality, flexibility, and sustainable operations, we service a diverse range of clients from emerging brands to established global players. As we continue our year on year growth and increase our production capacity, we are seeking a driven, sales focused and well-connected New Business Sales Development Manager to expand our client base and secure new bottling and liquid development contracts. The company is in a truly exciting phase of transformation with exponential growth and development planned and are seeking an individual who can aid and own this growth within the sales function of the business.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Sales Director, the New Business Sales Development Manager will be responsible for identifying, targeting, and converting new business opportunities within the alcoholic spirits sector. The ideal candidate will bring a strong network of contacts across spirit brands, distributors, and industry stakeholders, using these relationships to generate leads, pitch services, and secure long-term supply contracts. This role comes with a high level of autonomy.
Key Responsibilities
- New Business Development: Working with the Sales Director to identify and engage potential customers, particularly spirit brands seeking liquid production and / or bottling partners.
- Lead Generation: Use existing industry contacts, and wider network referrals, alongside attending industry trade shows and cold calling techniques to generate high-quality leads and opportunities.
- Sales Pipeline Management: Build and manage a robust sales pipeline from initial contact to contract signing.
- Client Relationship Management: Develop strong relationships with key decision-makers in target companies and the wider industry to foster new and additional business.
- Contract Negotiation: Work with the sales director in commercial negotiations
- Market Intelligence: Stay informed of industry trends, emerging brands, and competitor activity to inform strategy through to finalised agreements.
- Collaboration: Work closely with production, operations, and finance to ensure smooth onboarding of new clients and delivery of contracted services to a high level of execution.
- Reporting: Provide regular sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and performance delivery to senior management.
- Proven track record in sales or business development within the spirits industry or contract manufacturing / services environment.
- Established network of contacts within the alcoholic spirits sector (e.g., brand owners, distributors, producers).
- Strong negotiation and commercial acumen.
- Client focused attitude with problem solver mentality.
- Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of the new business function.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel across the UK and internationally as required.
- Experience working in or with a contract bottling or co-packing business.
- Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in alcoholic beverage production.
- Passion for craft and premium spirits.
Package
- Base salary + performance-based bonus (£40,000 - £45,000. OTE £75,000)
- Car allowance or travel expenses
