The Company

Wagestream is on a mission to bring better financial wellbeing to frontline workers.

We partner with some of the world’s most famous employers, like Bupa, Burger King, Green King and the mighty NHS to give their teams access to fairer financial services - all built around flexible pay. Over three million people can now choose how often they’re paid, track their shifts and earnings, start saving, use budgeting tools, get free financial coaching, and access fairer financial products. All in one financial wellbeing super-app.

Wagestream is unique: VC-backed and growing at scale-up pace, but with a social conscience. Some of the world's leading financial charities and impact funds were our founding investors, and we operate on a social charter - which means every product we build has to improve financial health and reduce the $5.6bn ‘premium’ lower-income earners pay for financial services each year.

You’d be joining a team of over 200 passionate, ambitious people, across Europe and the USA, building a category-leading fintech product and all united by that same mission.

The Opportunity

This is a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact on the financial lives of the UK's healthcare heroes. Wagestream is already a proud partner to over 130 NHS Trusts and Health Boards, meaning more than 900,000 NHS employees have access to our service.

However, awareness and adoption of this crucial benefit are incredibly low, and fall far behind other sectors Wagestream operates in.

We are looking for a passionate and commercially-minded individual to take on this challenge. Working closely with our dedicated NHS Client Success and Delivery team, your sole mission will be to unlock the potential of our existing NHS partnerships. You will be the architect of a strategy that drives awareness, engagement, and ultimately, adoption of Wagestream, ensuring hundreds of thousands of NHS workers can benefit from a service designed to improve their financial health.

What you'll do

You will be responsible for creating and executing a multi-channel strategy to deeply embed Wagestream within our NHS partners. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement innovative engagement strategies to significantly increase Wagestream adoption across our NHS client base, with a clear goal of growing active user numbers.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Map, build, and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders within NHS Trusts, NHS England and regional groups such as ICBs, to secure their buy-in and active support. This will include payroll partners such as ESR and other equivalents in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
  • Build a Community: Identify, recruit, and empower a network of enthusiastic ‘Wagestream Champions’ on the ground, providing them with the toolkits, resources, and support they need to drive peer-to-peer adoption.
  • Communications: Create compelling and NHS-resonant communication campaigns and materials (posters, digital assets, case studies, guides) to ensure our message cuts through the noise and lands effectively with a diverse workforce.
  • Pilot & Scale: Design and run pilot programs within specific Trusts or departments to test new engagement tactics, gather crucial feedback, and refine your approach.
  • Analysis & Reporting: Track adoption metrics, analyse data to understand what’s working, and report on progress to internal teams, using insights to build a scalable and repeatable adoption framework for the entire NHS estate.
  • Collaboration: Work hand-in-glove with the NHS Client Success and Delivery team to ensure a seamless and aligned approach to supporting our partners.

What we're looking for

We're looking for someone with a unique blend of communications expertise, strategic thinking, and a genuine passion for the NHS.

  • Essential NHS Experience: You have direct experience working within or for the NHS (e.g., at a Trust, an ICS, or NHS England). You understand its complex structures, unique culture, and communication channels, and you know how to navigate them effectively.
  • Communications & Engagement Pro: You have a proven track record in a communications, marketing, or engagement role, with demonstrable experience of creating campaigns that drive behaviour change.
  • Relationship Builder: You have a natural ability to build rapport and influence senior stakeholders, turning sceptics into advocates.
  • A Growth Mindset: You are curious, creative, and results-oriented. You’re comfortable testing new ideas, learning from feedback, and iterating your approach to find what works best.
  • Project Management: You are highly organised, able to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously, and can see a strategy through from concept to completion.
  • Mission-Driven: You are motivated by our social mission and are passionate about improving the lives of frontline workers.
