Network Operations Center Analyst – Edinburgh, Hybrid

Edinburgh, Hybrid – base in the Edinburgh office for a minimum of three days a week, with flexibility to work from home.
Overview
Join our Global Tech Support (GTS) department as an NOC Analyst. You will support IT systems and employees across our global sites, working with multiple business lines to deliver high service levels worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor infrastructure and network performance using advanced tools to detect and respond to issues in real time.
- Respond to alerts and incidents, escalating appropriately and working with the wider team to restore service quickly.
- Identify and resolve critical incidents within agreed SLAs to minimize impact and downtime.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by spotting opportunities for process optimisation and automation.
- Troubleshoot technical issues across servers, networks, and applications.
- Maintain infrastructure integrity through routine checks, updates, and documentation.
- Log, categorize, and prioritize global incidents, ensuring timely and accurate response.
- Perform routine tasks using Linux command-line systems, maintaining operational consistency.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with teams across the organisation to support seamless incident resolution and service delivery.
- Use monitoring tools to generate reports that support data‑driven decisions and service enhancements.
- Adhere to internal and external audit requirements, business regulations, and service level agreements.
Shift Pattern
12‑hour shifts and bank holidays are required. The shift pattern will likely be either 4 or 5 on, 4 or 5 off, working a mixture of 12‑hour day/night shifts (7am‑7pm & 7pm‑7am). Initial 4‑week induction in the office Monday‑Friday 9am‑5pm. Weekend shift rotation – 2 in every 4 weekends.

Key Skills Required
- Experience in a technical environment, ideally within a NOC, IT support, or systems administration role.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.
- Familiarity with Linux systems and command‑line operations.
- Understanding of ITIL frameworks is highly advantageous.
- Passion for continual learning and professional development.
- Proficiency in Linux, network monitoring tools such as Zscaler ZDX, AlertSite, SolarWinds, or similar.
- Excellent teamwork and collaborative mindset.
