The Role

We are looking for a candidate to join our team as a Sales Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing sales team. You will cover part of the Nuclear and Industrial sector where you’ll be responsible for a range of instruments and ideally be located within commutable distance of our office in Henfield. Our product portfolio is wide and it covers a broad range of applications from health physics to environmental monitoring systems.

As a Sales Engineer, you will help the team to increase product sales by visiting universities, industrial and nuclear sites and providing solutions to different client applications. While the role is predominantly UK based, there will be an element of foreign travel required to fulfil the role.

You will also work closely with other departments and the product manufacturers to develop the customer base, increasing awareness of your products and providing an excellent customer experience from start to finish.

You will be provided with a company car, laptop, and mobile phone to assist you in your role, along with the necessary training and support to become the best you can be.

Responsibilities

  • Keep current and future customers happy and satisfied with our services;
  • Provide support and product information to customers from a wide range of markets (including, but not limited to: nuclear power, defence, universities, radiation protection, mining and water companies);
  • Identify and contact prospective customers via telephone, email, on-site visits and exhibitions;
  • Regular travel to customer sites to nurture customer relationships;
  • Discover and develop new opportunities in the assigned sector;
  • Keep customer records accurate and up to date using the Company CRM, including brief reports of all visits;
  • Attending and presenting at trade shows both with colleagues and individually;
  • The above list is not exhaustive and, as such, you may be required to undertake other duties as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Scientific and/or technical background (either a degree related to Physics, Chemistry or Electronics, or relevant industrial experience)
  • Comfortable working with ionising radiation, and visiting nuclear licenced sites
  • Personable and professional approach
  • Well-organised
  • Good presentation and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable with regular business travel, including spending time away from home
  • Self-driven and independent
  • Competent with Microsoft Office
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Knowledge of (or interest in) nuclear physics, radiation protection and/or electronics
  • Experience in the nuclear and/or electronics industries
  • Proven track record in a sales role
  • Uncapped commission structure and potential sales bonus based upon sales achievements
