We are hiring a qualified Nurse to join our Functional Assessor team in Harrow, London. The role offers regular 9-to-5 hours, hybrid working, and the opportunity to apply clinical skills in a multidisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assess individuals and how their disabilities or conditions affect their work life using your clinical expertise.
  • Take detailed medical histories and perform appropriate physical examinations.
  • Produce concise, accurate reports for the DWP to determine eligibility for benefits.
  • Meet with participants face-to-face or via telephone/video, maintaining sensitivity and best-practice standards.
  • Work at a pace that allows precise assessments while delivering thorough attention to each person.
  • Operate unsupervised as part of a wider multidisciplinary team with accessible support as part of the package.

About You

  • Registered General, Mental Health or Learning Disability Nurse with a minimum 12 months of recent, broad-based post-registration experience.
  • Experience in functional assessment and clinical decision-making is advantageous.
  • Continuous Professional Development (CPD) present on CV; registered with the NMC.
  • Strong understanding of clinical governance and commitment to delivering to agreed customer service levels and targets.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
  • IT proficiency and experience using a range of software.
  • Self-aware, professional, and able to maintain integrity and patient confidentiality.
  • Motivated to contribute to quality customer service with empathy, respect and sensitivity in assessment delivery.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative to meet deadlines and standards; reliable team member willing to support the multidisciplinary team.
  • Eligible to work in the UK without a visa (sponsorship not available).
