About the Role

Hours: 18 hours per week plus on-call allowances (Incident Command Function)

Contract: 12 months fixed term

Location: Hybrid / Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service Headquarters, Swinton

Your role:

You will be responsible for planning and maintaining the Flexi Duty rota for officers, including allocating skills, managing annual leave, and planning training requirements, while ensuring the daily ridership needs of the organization are met. Additionally, you will support the Workforce Planning Officer to ensure the organization has a deployable workforce with the right skills, and to forecast and plan for movements, leavers, and new starters. Effective communication and liaison with senior leaders and teams across the organization are essential to deliver the Fire Action Plan.

About you:

You should be able to work collaboratively within a small team and across the wider organization to meet targets. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including report writing, presentation skills, and influencing abilities at various levels, are required. Building strong stakeholder relationships is crucial, as a significant part of the role involves stakeholder management.

The ideal candidate will have an analytical mindset, excellent attention to detail, and be highly motivated, reliable, and organized. You should be capable of managing multiple deadlines and taking appropriate action when necessary. Strong evaluation and problem-solving skills, with the ability to draw conclusions from data and self-analysis, are also important.
