Overview
Offshore Installation Manager - Senior (Export Cable Installation) is sought to oversee the delivery of a high-profile Export Cable Installation project for a leading player in the offshore wind and marine energy sector. This role requires deep technical knowledge of subsea cable operations and offshore logistics to join a high-performing team on a major international project. Location: Remote (with travel across Europe & Taiwan). Contract Duration: 12 Months (28 Sep 2025 - 30 Sep 2026). Day Rate: Up to £665 (Inside IR35). Work Pattern: Monday - Friday, 40 hours/week. Extension option: 6 months.
Responsibilities
- Analyse and optimise offshore installation and logistics strategies.
- Prepare technical tender documentation.
- Support contract tendering, negotiation, and recommendation (including Marine Warranty Surveyor input).
- Manage offshore installation contractors and ensure alignment across project disciplines.
- Review and approve method statements and risk assessments.
- Conduct and implement HAZID/HAZOP for installation operations.
- Supervise offshore campaign initiation, vessel setup, trials, and tooling development.
- Ensure quality control processes are followed including QAS, Design Quality Reporting, and NCR management.
- Monitor progress, identify risks, and report to the Project Manager with mitigation plans.
- Coordinate with Client Representatives and manage QA progress reporting.
Candidate Profile
- Essential Experience:
- Proven track record in offshore wind, marine energy, or subsea construction.
- Expertise in array and export cable installation; cable laying and cable pulling; cable protection systems.
- Strong understanding of installation method statements, MWS processes, and risk assessments.
- Experience managing offshore contractors, suppliers, and marine operations teams.
- HAZID/HAZOP facilitation skills.
- Preferred:
- Prior experience on large offshore wind projects (e.g., with tier-1 developers).
- Comfortable working in international, multi-stakeholder environments.
