Job Description:

Role Title: On-Premise FinOps Data & Reporting Analyst

Location: Sheffield, S1 4NB (Hybrid 60% office/40% home - 3 days in the office is mandatory)

Start Date: ASAP

End Date: 28/11/2025

Pay Rate: £312p/d max via Umbrella

Overview:

We work in partnership with the Chief Technology Office to proactively provide insights regarding rightsizing opportunities across Datacentre and End User technologies, thus allowing internal customers/business functions to reduce their utilisation and spend on technology infrastructure.

Key Areas of Service:

• Supporting analysis, planning, and execution of optimisation/rightsizing tactics, working with IT functions to optimise infrastructure consumption and spend.
• Tracking benefits from rightsizing, including cost impacts, reduced datacentre space, power, carbon needs, and asset re-use.
• Providing presentation materials on technology usage, charges, and optimisation opportunities based on internal data sources.

Requirements:

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret IT financial data and present findings clearly.
• Excel, SQL, Power BI, data mapping skills.
• Experience with data visualisation and high-quality PowerPoint presentations.
• Problem-solving abilities and teamwork in identifying optimisation opportunities.
• Understanding of IT services, financial management, budgeting, cost allocations, and infrastructure domains.
• Attention to data quality and ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
• Good communication skills in English and team collaboration.

Nice to Have:

• Knowledge of ITFM, TBM, or FinOps principles.
• Experience with IT cost management tools like ApptioOne.
• ITIL or Service Management background.
• SQL query experience and data mapping skills.
• Experience in financial services organizations (desirable but not essential).
