Location: London, UK (Hybrid Working Available)
Reports To: Senior Associate, Coalitions and Research
Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent
About CFIT
The Centre for Finance, Innovation and Technology (CFIT) brings together leaders from across finance, technology, academia, and policy to drive forward opportunities for innovation in the UK financial services sector. We aim to accelerate the UK's global fintech leadership, enable greater industry collaboration, and remove barriers to scaling transformative financial technologies.
We are looking for a proactive and purpose-driven Operations Executive to help us shape the future of how we work both internally and with our external partners. This is a unique opportunity to build best-in-class Agile practices, establish operational excellence, and play a central role in the culture and rhythm of a growing, mission-led organisation.
You will be instrumental in setting up projects for success, embedding Agile ways of working, and ensuring our day-to-day operations run smoothly. From governance and risk tracking to stakeholder communications and CRM ownership, you will be the engine behind our delivery capability and a key contributor to the legacy we are building.
The Role
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management and Agile Delivery
- Assist with the design and embedding of Agile practices across internal teams and external collaborators.
- Help with planning, scheduling and tracking of Agile ceremonies (e.g., stand-ups, retrospectives, planning sessions).
- Support teams in adopting continuous improvement and delivery-focused mindsets.
Project Setup & Governance
- Complete desktop research on prospective themes which might underpin future coalitions (e.g. Smart Data, A.I, Tokenisation, Quantum, etc)
- Lead the setup of new projects, ensuring alignment with organisational frameworks.
- Maintain governance processes, including risk identification, tracking, and mitigation.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and coalition-wide standards.
Operational & Administrative Excellence
- Oversee core administrative functions: meeting scheduling, minute-taking, document control, and workflow optimisation.
- Create clear, compelling documentation and presentations to support project tracking and stakeholder engagement.
- Manage CFIT website and HubSpot or equivalent CRM for project and stakeholder data, reporting, and updates.
Why This Role Is Special
- You will help shape the delivery culture for an exciting scale up.
- You will contribute to how we work, not just what we deliver.
- You will work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to drive meaningful change.
- You will leave behind a legacy of clarity, agility, and operational excellence.
Person Specification
- We are ideally looking for a person who has recently graduated or has 1-2 years of experience.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise and compelling content for diverse audiences.
- Interest in fintech, emerging technology, research, or the financial innovation ecosystem in the UK.
- Confidence using digital platforms and productivity tools including, HubSpot (or equivalent CRM), LinkedIn, Microsoft Office, and email marketing tools.
- Organised, responsive, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment. Attentive to detail.
- Understanding of the UK fintech landscape, regulatory environment, or related sectors (e.g., tech, finance, government).
What We Offer:
- A mission-driven organisation working at the heart of UK financial innovation.
- A collaborative, agile, and supportive team environment.
- Direct exposure to senior stakeholders in government, industry, and academia.
- Hybrid working and flexible hours.
- Training, mentoring, and career development opportunities.
- Employer pension contribution
