Job Description
Ultra Precision Control Systems seeks an Operation Technician to test, fault find, and repair a range of products to meet customer commitments regarding quality and timelines.
As an Operations Technician, you will provide technical support, applying your expertise and experience in clearly defined operational environments and through formal training. This role requires high attention to detail and experience interpreting and reviewing controlled documentation.
Job purpose:
- Build, inspect, and test new products according to ATP documentation within your scope of approval.
- Test and inspect work performed by team members.
- Perform diagnostic testing and root cause analysis on non-conforming work to identify corrective actions.
- Undertake fault diagnosis on returned items and provide comprehensive reports.
- Repair and test customer units as required.
- Support the team as a technical champion, ensuring compliance with manufacturing standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble new products and repair customer products following drawings and instructions.
- Diagnose faults in units failing ATP and provide detailed reports.
- Perform final ATP testing of units.
- Identify issues and recommend solutions to prevent recurrence.
- Coordinate with quality, engineering, and other departments.
- Review job progress annually for continuous improvement.
- Attend training for personal and company development.
- Adhere to company procedures.
- Perform other duties as reasonably assigned.
Qualifications/Experience:
- Understanding of customer expectations and requirements.
- Respectful and courteous teamwork.
- Certified Ultra PCS stamp holder or equivalent responsibility.
- Ability to achieve IPC certification.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methods, especially lean principles.
- At least 3 years' experience in aerospace/defence or formal engineering qualification (NVQ/C&G/ONC).
- Familiarity with 6S and Lean activities.
