This role presents an exciting opportunity for a technically proficient Senior Oracle Platform Engineer. You will be joining the highly skilled and well-regarded Database support team, an integral part of the wider CNI Platform support team.

As a senior engineer, you will be able to provide support and expertise to other team members and contribute to all deliverables including planning. The role requires the ability to work out of hours, partake in a 24x7 standby rota and provide incident support as required for critical events. This position requires a minimum of 40% in-office attendance.

A Day in the Role: The key application supported by the CNI Platform team is RTGS, this service settles £800 billion on an average day and is classed as Critical National Infrastructure, by the UK Government, important to the smooth functioning of the UK economy.

Role Requirements: You are a dedicated Oracle Platform engineer within an Agile environment and meet the minimum criteria. You have a clear collaborative approach to working with others, and keen to share knowledge with colleagues.

Minimum Criteria: We're looking for someone who has the following key skills and experience:

  • Oracle Database Real Application Cluster (RAC) configurations
  • Oracle Dataguard configuration, maintenance, and operational optimisation
  • Oracle Goldengate configuration and Support
  • Oracle key Vault (OKV) Capability
  • Oracle Database engine Fault Diagnosis and Resolution
  • Practical expertise in Oracle Database performance tuning and optimization
  • Oracle Enterprise Monitor (OEM) setup, configuration, and alerting enhancements (Metric Extensions)
  • Oracle Platform Security concepts and delivery (Kerberos, mTLS and Database Vault)
  • Experience with automated build and deployment of Oracle Platforms (Jenkins/Ansible)
  • Ability to provide in and out of hours support to the 24/7 production environment, resolving issues as they arise.

Desirable Criteria: It would also be beneficial, but not necessary, to have some of the following:

  • Experience with other Database Technologies, e.g. Microsoft SQL, PostgreSQL, MySQL
  • Splunk Monitoring Integration capability
  • Linux Operating System Administration knowledge and experience
  • Enterprise systems network integrations with Oracle Platforms
  • SAN (Pure) Database Storage Configuration and Integration
  • Security skills: knowledge of modern security practices and technologies to ensure the security of applications and infrastructure.
  • Industry Certifications

We offer a salary as follows: Leeds circa £72,320 - £81,360. In addition, we also offer a comprehensive benefits package as detailed below:
