The Role:

Paralegal – Leveraged Finance

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Paralegal to join our Leveraged Finance team. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-value transactions alongside leading lawyers in the field. The successful candidate will support the team in managing documentation, coordinating deal processes, and liaising with clients and counterparties.

Hours:

Standard hours are 9:30am to 5:30pm with flexibility in accordance with the needs of the business.

Our current working from home policy allows for two days working from home, subject to business need.This policy is subject to change and does not form part of contractual terms.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation, review, and management of ancillary finance documentation.
  • Coordinate conditions precedent and closing checklists, ensuring timely completion and delivery. Coordinating NDA and reliance letter processes.
  • Oversee and manage post closing work including assisting with security registrations, satisfaction of conditions subsequent and client summaries.
  • Support transaction closings, including drafting execution versions, arranging signatures, and managing post-closing deliverables.
  • Maintain and update transaction bibles and document management systems.
  • Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, and internal teams to facilitate smooth deal execution.
  • Conduct legal research and assist with know-how and precedent development.
  • Provide administrative support including file management, billing assistance, and compliance tasks.

Qualifications

Educated to degree level or equivalent, ideally in Law.

Experience, skills and personal attributes:

  • Previous paralegal experience in banking or finance, ideally within a Leveraged Finance team within a law firm or financial institution.
  • An understanding of loan structures, security packages, and transaction processes would be an advantage.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and inter-personal skills with the ability to deal with clients and other key stakeholders; you should enjoy working as part of a team
  • Self-motivated and pro-active
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Docusign and document management systems.

Desirable:

  • Familiarity with LMA (Loan Market Association) documentation.
  • Experience in cross-border transactions or private equity-backed deals.
