Overview

Part-time (0.5 FTE) Grants & Finance Officer, Centre for Socio-Legal Studies, Faculty of Law. Supports pre- and post-award research and financial administration at the Centre.

Responsibilities

  • Process day-to-day financial transactions in accordance with the University’s financial regulations, in close consultation with the Faculty of Law finance team.
  • Support the Centre Director and Principal Investigators (PIs) holding grants.
  • Apply funder rules and University financial requirements; convey policies clearly to colleagues.
  • Summarise, analyse and understand financial data; identify anomalies; produce accurate work, even under pressure.
  • Use IT tools to manipulate and present complex data using spreadsheets; communicate effectively in person and online with stakeholders across roles and time zones.
  • Experience with UKRI and/or European research administration; completion of an AAT or similar accounting course is desirable.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience of research grants administration or equivalent administrative experience.
  • Ability to understand a range of funder rules and University financial requirements; communicate them effectively.
  • High numeracy; ideally GCSE Mathematics grade 6 or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work with people in different roles and potentially across time zones.
  • Excellent IT skills and ability to present financial data.

Details

Part time (0.5 FTE or 18.25 hours per week), fixed term for 24 months with review after 12 months. Based at Centre for Socio-Legal Studies, Manor Road Building, Oxford, OX1 3UQ, with potential for hybrid working with Centre Manager.
