Partner/Senior Solicitor - Court of Protection (Leeds)

Fletchers Group invites an experienced Partner/Senior Solicitor to join our Court of Protection team based in Leeds with hybrid working flexibility.

Location: Leeds – Hybrid (work from home and in‑office as required)

Main Responsibilities

  • Run your own caseload of Deputyship and Trustee matters, pre and post settlement, supervising junior fee earners and providing technical support.
  • Attend clients at home, hospital or care homes to discuss budgets and priorities.
  • Liaise with financial advisors on investments.
  • Prepare accurate accounts and budgets for Deputyship cases, ensuring funding sustainability.
  • Manage Deputyship applications and other Court of Protection submissions.
  • Delegate and supervise tasks to junior team members where appropriate.
  • Carry out staff supervision, regular meetings and appraisals.
  • Contribute to regular team meetings and training sessions.
  • Actively engage in business development plans.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • A minimum of 6 years PQE Court of Protection property & affairs work and experience setting up and running PI trusts.
  • Significant experience of very high value Court of Protection work, particularly in ongoing litigation.
  • Experience of acting as a deputy/director of a trust corporation.
  • Experience of making applications for statutory wills, gifts and other applications affecting property & affairs.
  • Strong empathetic interpersonal skills and ability to deal with people with disabilities, their families and care teams.
  • High degree of professionalism, pride in work and commitment to achieve client goals.
  • Strong leadership skills, ability to lead and manage a growing team in line with budgets and KPIs.
  • Enthusiasm for team building and raising the internal and external profile of the team.
  • Ability to train and develop others.
  • Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Organised working in line with departmental procedures.
  • Initiative and forward thinking.
  • Business development interest.
