Part-time Administration Assistant: Mental Health Research Programmes

The Department of Psychiatry is based on the Warneford Hospital site in Oxford – a friendly, welcoming place of work with an international reputation for excellence. The Department has a substantial research programme, with major funding from Medical Research Council (MRC), Wellcome Trust and National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and provides highly rated medical training in psychiatry. The Head of Department is Professor Belinda Lennox.

The post will provide administrative support to the NIHR Mental Health Research Incubator (MHR Incubator), a programme which supports capacity building in applied mental health research through a number of different career development programmes for mental health researchers.

The post is available on a flexible hybrid basis. The preference would be for majority onsite working, with the minimum on-site time as 2 days/week which must be worked Monday-Thursday

About the Role

The post is funded to 31 December 2026 and is based in the Department of Experimental Psychology, Life and Mind Building, Parks Road/Oxford. The post is Part-time (80% FTE).

You will support all the programmes through programme evaluation, programme administration and events support. This will include administration of the application and review process for all programmes, financial administration, and collating and analysing feedback for programme evaluation. You will provide events support for the programme for both in person and online events.

About You

You will be educated to A level or equivalent, and will have excellent administrative, IT and organisational skills. With excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate clearly with stakeholders you will have experience of events organisation both online and in person. An interest in mental health research, and personal and professional development programmes would be desirable as would demonstrable evaluation experience (using qualitative and quantitative data).
