Overview

Are you detail-oriented, organised, and looking to grow your career in finance? Join Sage as a Payment Analyst within our European Finance Operations team. You\'ll be part of a collaborative Purchase to Pay (P2P) function that plays a key role in ensuring payments are processed efficiently, accurately, and in line with our business policies. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment, while contributing to continuous improvement and building strong internal and external relationships. This role is hybrid, based in our Newcastle office, 3 days a week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process supplier invoices using our document recognition system, ensuring everything runs smoothly and aligns with Sage\'s policies.
  • Manage internal and external queries, prioritising issues to ensure timely resolution and helping us meet key KPIs—especially ensuring payments go out on time.
  • Maintain accuracy and financial integrity through regular supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Escalate issues to the P2P Manager and ensure they are resolved promptly and effectively.
  • Plan and manage your workload carefully so that both payment schedules and month-end deadlines are consistently met.
  • Support all areas of the P2P department when needed, including contributing to key projects and participating in learning and development activities.
  • Work with other finance teams and business units to resolve issues and ensure alignment across teams.
  • Document and standardise work methods, identify areas to eliminate waste, and contribute to updating the team\'s value stream map.
  • Track team KPIs, assist with internal reporting, and contribute to wider departmental projects when needed.
  • When a colleague is out, provide support to their workload and keep your manager updated on queue management for smooth operations.

Qualifications

  • At least two years of experience in accounts payable, ideally within a tech or fast-paced environment.
  • Customer-first approach with service-oriented mindset.
  • Experience in a continuous improvement culture or with ERP systems is a bonus.
  • Comfortable managing priorities with an agile, solutions-focused mindset.
  • No specific qualifications required, but studying or an interest in accounting is a good fit for this role.

Benefits

  • Generous bonuses and pension scheme: Up to 8% matched pension contribution plus 2% top-up by Sage.
  • 25 days of paid annual leave with the option to buy up to another 5 days
  • 8 bank holiday days
  • Paid 5 days yearly to volunteer through our Sage Foundation
