Overview

I'm excited to announce that I am working exclusively with a business who is looking for a Payments Operations Specialist to join their fast growing fintech client, reporting into their Head of Operations. You’ll be the go-to person for all things payment operations — from resolving payment failures to improving processes and supporting product launches.

This is a diverse, hands-on role where you’ll be cross-trained across the business and have direct exposure to compliance, customer experience, and product teams. You’ll also play a key part in shaping how we scale our payments function — with the opportunity to own the area and hire into it next year.

What You’ll Do

  • Own the resolution of payment issues (e.g. failed transactions, card escalations, international payments)
  • Monitor transaction flows and identify root causes of errors
  • Collaborate with Product & Engineering to improve payment processes
  • Support the launch of new payment solutions
  • Liaise with customers and partners to ensure smooth onboarding and support
  • Work closely with Compliance (KYC, onboarding, sanctions) and Customer Experience teams
  • Contribute to quarterly OKRs and continuous improvement initiatives

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years in a fintech, banking, or payments operations role
  • Experience with card payments, international payments, or open banking
  • Strong analytical mindset — able to spot trends and feed insights back to product
  • Comfortable working in a task-oriented, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills — you’ll be working with SMEs and internal teams
  • Growth mindset — eager to learn, adapt, and take ownership
  • Bonus: experience with tools like Xero, HubSpot, Veriff, Creditsafe
  • Someone who’s worked at escalation level in a support or payments team
  • Excited by the idea of joining a small, collaborative team and growing with the business
  • Comfortable wearing multiple hats and jumping in where needed
  • Process-driven and always looking for ways to improve how things are done
