Our Payroll Services team are part of our wider People Shared Services team, and responsible for the timely and accurate processing of over 3,500 employees within UK and RoI monthly.
People Services deal with all employee lifecycle activities (starters, T&C changes and leavers), working collaboratively with all RS functions to ensure that we consistently deliver excellent customer service to both employees and stakeholders.
It is a very exciting time to join our People Services team, as we are embarking on a journey of process excellence and increased scope over the next 1-2 years – with our Payroll Team being a key area of focus.
Role Purpose
This role is to support the BAU of a busy payroll function in an end-to-end process as part of a team. This can be high pressured at times and requires attention to detail.
Responsibilities
- Provide an end-to-end excellent payroll service to the business.
- Support delivery of operational excellence.
- Resolve all payroll-related queries within agreed timescales.
- Support the payroll provision for RS Group PLC in the UK&I in line with legal and statutory requirements.
- Pay employees accurately and on time.
- Work effectively with Finance, PSS, Reward and the Pensions teams.
- Add value to payroll-related activities by critically reviewing and analysing processes to develop and maintain an innovative payroll service.
- Build and maintain excellent relationships with internal and external customers and peers.
- Ensure confidentiality in all payroll activities in line with GDPR.
- Act as a role model regarding RS Values.
- Manage payroll tasks within set timelines.
How I make a difference in this role
To ensure transactional payroll activities are carried out within KPIs, delivering consistent operational excellence efficiently.
- Experienced payroller capable of manually calculating gross to net pay.
- Excellent knowledge of HMRC legislation (RTI, NLW, Holiday Pay, Working Time Regulations).
- Numerate and data literate.
- Ability to interpret and communicate messages/confidential information confidently and effectively with good interpersonal skills at all levels.
- Team player, working collaboratively.
- Highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.
