The Role

As a Lead System Architect you will be responsible for leading the design and implementing end-to-end Pega solutions that align with business goals and technical standards. In this role you will collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into scalable and maintainable Pega applications. As a Lead System Architect, you will play a critical role in quality assurance, code reviews, and guiding the overall technical vision of Pega projects. For this role you should have experience with enterprise architecture, agile methodologies, and governance. We are looking for someone with deep expertise in Pega Platform capabilities, including case management, decisioning, integrations, and performance tuning and hands-on experience in CDH.

Your responsibilities:

• Hands-on Technical Implementation:
• Lead the hands-on development and build of the Pega CDH application, personally owning the implementation of the most complex components, including core data flows, decision strategies, and integrations.
• Execute the initial application setup, including the creation of the enterprise class structure, ruleset architecture, and access configurations as designed with the LDA.
• Configure and validate core platform components, including the Decision Data Store (DDS), Adaptive Decision Manager (ADM), and Interaction History (IH) services.
• Technical Problem Solving & System Integrity:
• Lead technical troubleshooter, diagnosing and resolving complex issues related to performance, data integrity, and system integration.
• Implement and manage the technical setup of Pega environments, including node configuration, agent/queue processor setup, and JVM tuning.
• Execute the technical build for all data integrations, connecting Pega CDH to upstream data sources (Kafka, Databases, Files) and downstream channels (APIs, Mobile, Web).
• Ensure the application is built to be performant, running regular health checks, analysing Pega logs, and proactively optimizing code and configurations.
• Technical Mentorship & Code Quality:
• Act as the lead engineer for the development team, providing expert guidance, pair-programming support, and conducting rigorous code reviews to ensure quality and adherence to Pega best practices.
• Set high-quality engineering standards and enforce application guardrails.
• Translate the LDA's architectural designs into clear, actionable technical tasks for yourself and other developers.
• Cross-functional Technical Collaboration:
• Work with technical counterparts in other departments (Data Engineering,Infrastructure, Security) to execute the technical details of integrations and deployments.
• Possess a broad technical awareness to understand the "bigger picture" of how Pega fits into the client’s technology ecosystem, ensuring smooth collaboration.

Your Profile

Essential skills/knowledge/experience:

• Certification: Pega Certified Lead System Architect (LSA) is mandatory.
• Hands-on Pega Experience: very strong hands-on Pega development, with good knowledge on supporting Pega CDH / Decisioning projects.
• Deep Technical Expertise in -
• Pega Decisioning component stack: Next-Best-Action Designer, Data Flows, Decision Strategies, Prediction Studio (ADM), and Interaction History.
• Pega integration services (REST, Kafka), data set configuration (DDS, Database), and advanced agent/queue processing.
• Pega performance tuning, including clipboard management, DB trace analysis, and alert log interpretation.
• Technical setup and configuration of Pega Cloud or on-premise environments.
• Business & Results Acumen:
• An understanding of how to build technical frameworks that support business value measurement (e.g., A/B testing, control groups).
• The ability to quantify and articulate the impact of technical decisions on performance and stability.
• Experience in Financial Services or another large, regulated industry is highly advantageous.
