As our People Business Partner, you will provide a comprehensive and best practice people service to the business. You will acquire, maintain, and develop employees to ensure that the company has the required skills and competencies to achieve its objectives.
What you’ll be doing…
- Build a business partnership within your area of responsibility, ensuring that the people team is fully integrated into the management team of your stakeholders.
- Be the first point of contact, providing guidance and support on employee relations issues within your business area, ensuring compliance with relevant employment law.
- In conjunction with the Talent Acquisition Business Partner, identify recruitment and selection needs within your business area and support the process with hiring managers, including participating in interview panels.
- Provide mentorship to the People and Systems Coordinator and delegate tasks as required to support their ongoing personal development.
- Collaborate with the Talent and Development Business Partner to support activities such as talent reviews, appraisal processes, training needs, and deployment.
- Support internal managers with training on people policies to upskill them.
- Manage absence within your area, working with the Occupational Health Advisor on absence case management.
- Support the annual employee engagement survey within your area, working with management to develop and implement action plans.
- Promote wellbeing activities across the business to increase engagement year on year.
- Undertake project work and research to ensure effective HR interventions and innovative people-related initiatives aligned with organizational vision.
This is a full-time, hybrid role covering locations in St Helens and Queensferry, so flexibility to travel is essential.

If you have any of the following, it would be an advantage:
- CIPD qualification or relevant experience
- Experience in implementing positive employee relations programs and driving operational results
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment
- Strong collaboration skills and ability to build relationships
