We have an exciting opportunity for a People Systems Analyst to join our People & Culture Team, ideally based from our Cheltenham office (or Bristol office also considered), with hybrid working. We are open to full-time or part-time (4 days) on a fixed term contract until November 2026 (14+ months).
The People Team are based across our offices including Cheltenham, Bristol, Birmingham, and Amersham. It provides a full HR service to the Firm encompassing Total Rewards & People Solutions, People Experience, Organisation Development & Talent, Resourcing and Talent Acquisition, and HR Operations. Whilst the role sits within the People Team, collaboration with the IT team is expected.
We’re seeking a HR System Administrator/Analyst, with Oracle HCM experience including patch release activity. The role is predominantly first line support, problem resolution with some small change activities e.g. workflows, system configuration etc. All main changes are made by our external service provider. HR practical experience is beneficial but not essential.
A snapshot of your day:
- Supporting the HCM Oracle cloud-based system
- End User Support: initial contact point for all HR System queries for colleagues, managers and People & Culture team members; resolve issues in a timely manner or escalate to our service support provider as required; manage the transaction console to ensure failed processes are identified and fixed.
- Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Investigate and troubleshoot technical problems and errors related to the HR System; collaborating with relevant teams to identify root causes of issues, use knowledge to understand the impact of system changes and implement effective solutions.
- Patch Releases: Co-ordinate the quarterly patch release programme ensuring that stakeholders are engaged with the key timings; Review the new features, ensure those relevant are identified and presented to SME’s – support can be obtained from our service support provider to help with this where complex; creating test scripts for new features and resetting test account passwords.
- System changes, Testing and Functionality Support: Ongoing Change Support - analysis of requested business changes to ensure changes meet business requirements and add improvement and efficiencies to BAU activity and user experience; Assist in making changes, ensuring that any updates are implemented correctly, using thorough testing, ensuring that key processes and workflows continue to function effectively and provide required improvements following the updates.
- Training and Documentation: Create, maintain and update training materials and process maps, ensuring they are accurate and up to date and aid in user understanding and adoption, including through the use of guided learning and training sessions on new functionalities and conduct refresher sessions
- Change Management and Project Support: Participate in change management initiatives related to the HCM System, aiding in the successful adoption of new processes and functionalities; Contribute to continuous improvement projects, providing insights and suggestions for enhancing system functionality and user experience.
- Project Work; Undertake projects to develop People Team provision and efficiency e.g., process improvement activities that relate to the HR System
We would love to hear from if you have:
- Experience in a similar role providing 1st line support on issues relating to systems.
- Familiarity and experience of Oracle Cloud Applications, especially Human Capital Management
- Excellent verbal and written (proficient in English) communication skills to interact with users, understand their issues, and provide clear solutions
- Knowledge of HR processes, policies, and procedures to effectively support users in their tasks is desirable, but not essential
- Analytical skills to diagnose and resolve system issues effectively.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office suite of software.
- Ability to identify root causes of problems and implement appropriate solutions.
- Ability to convey technical information in a non-technical manner for users with varying levels of technical expertise
- Ability to suggest improvements in system usage and processes based on user feedback.
- Ability to work independently but with sound judgment to prioritise and escalate matters to colleagues/manager where appropriate.
- Ability to maintain a positive and helpful demeanour while assisting users
