The Opportunity
Salary: £53,350 to £57,005 per annum
Working Pattern: Full time, 37 hours per week
Location: Based at County Hall, Chichester and hybrid working from home
Interview date: Thursday 24 July 2025
As our Performance & Intelligence Business Partner –Adults’ Services team, you will work with service managers and their teams to ensure their performance is as effective and efficient as it can be. Through matrix managing a team of analysts who thrive on a challenge, you will develop and maintain robust performance management systems.
You have a vital role to bring actionable insight and intelligence to our directors and senior management to ensure data and evidence is valued and made fundamental to service delivery and improvement. It is vital that every report and dashboard produced is planned, delivered, tracked and acted upon.
The whole organisation is rich in data, and your role is to convert this into meaningful information, insights, robust performance management systems and accessible visualisations. Working with other Performance and Intelligence Business Partners, you will interact with Council services and with our partner organisations, seeking knowledge about their data and intelligence priorities and identifying areas where you can add value.

- Clear perspective on what good and outstanding levels of local government services look like (with a focus on socio-economic data).
- Relentless focus on quality and determination to deliver.
- Develop effective business relationships (as a key business partner) across Adults’ Services to support their research, data collation, disseminate results and provide valuable insights to support decision making processes.
- organisations, senior managers and their teams within Place Services, to understand their remit and business performance and to benchmark performance where appropriate
- Confidence to stay focused when tested, clear perspective on impact to be achieved
- Ability to motivate project teams and to prioritise workloads, to use your own judgement and seek out opportunities where your team can contribute most effectively.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Capability to interpret data and insight quickly and accurately.
- Aptitude and empathy to provide appropriate challenge.
- Experience of team management, creating effective team and individual work plans, and ensuring delivery of core objectives is essential
