The Risk and Compliance Oversight (R&CO) Directorate is responsible for overseeing risk governance, compliance, data protection and complaints within the FCA. The role provides a great seat from which to learn about a significant part of the FCA’s work and how the wider FCA works, while being part of a friendly, welcoming, empowered and team-spirited Directorate.
The focus of the role is to ensure the smooth and successful running of the two directorates within R&CO, the Risk, Compliance and Data Protection Directorate and the Complaints and Regulatory Investigations Directorate.
You will report to the Director of Complaints and Regulatory Investigations and work alongside another PA and a joint EA to support each Director alongside the SLT and wider management team.
What will you be doing?
- Acting as a point of contact for the Director and working alongside the other PA to manage the day-to-day functions of the Director’s office, triage inbound information and advise the Director on a range of strategic, supervisory and management issues to ensure that Director remains focused on key priorities
- Oversee inbox management by monitoring emails, preparing agendas for the management meetings and following up actions where necessary, flagging requests for Director’s approval and ensuring the department is represented at all key meetings during the Director’s absence
- Act as interface between the Director, the Directorates and the wider FCA to ensure flow of information, ensuring important matters are brought to the Director’s and Executive Director's attention and all correspondence with the Executive Director is managed efficiently and addressed in a timely manner
- Responsible for preparing agendas, coordinating briefings and managing meetings documents and pending actions. Skilled in drafting documents, letters, PowerPoint presentations when required to. Efficiently handling all expenses, invoices and purchase orders ensuring they adhere to FCA policies and are dealt with in a timely manner
- Offer support to the Directors’ PAs by overseeing the delegation of operational tasks to drive efficiency, while also assisting the senior leadership team through effective agenda management, document collation, and diligent tracking of decisions and follow-up actions
- Providing central support for the department around the use of FCA systems including Workday and SharePoint and keeping up to date with system changes

Minimum
- Proven experience in a role which has required strong written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to cultivate and manage stakeholder relationships across all levels
- Prior experience in processing and summarising complex information, evaluating proposals and supporting evidence to assess the next steps and the risks involved
- Proven experience in delivering high-quality administrative support to the Director, including mailbox and diary management

- A solid grasp of how the FCA operates or a strong ability and eagerness to learn quickly
