Overview

The PHP Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining the organisation’s back-end platform, writing clean, well-structured, and maintainable code, and contributing to the planning and delivery of digital projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead on all phases of the development lifecycle.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand organisational and user requirements.
• Provide technical expertise to integrate and optimise digital systems.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years’ experience creating and maintaining PHP-based systems.
• Strong knowledge of MySQL and MVC programming principles.
• Experience with frontend frameworks such as Vue.js.
• Proficient with version control systems (Git).
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and organisational skills.
• Linux usage and administration.
• Advanced MySQL/SQL database management and administration.
• Experience working within large application codebases.
• Hybrid working (minimum 3 days per week onsite in Southampton).
• 46 days leave annually (30 days annual leave, plus closure days and bank holidays), with the option to purchase additional leave.
