Are you ready to lead transformative strategic regional planning? We’re seeking a dynamic Planning Consultant Lead to spearhead the development of the North East Spatial Development Strategy. This fixed-term role offers a unique opportunity to work at the forefront of strategic planning, collaborating with partners to deliver a robust, evidence-led approach to spatial growth. You’ll be instrumental in laying the groundwork for a permanent planning team, driving innovation, and influencing national and regional policy to support infrastructure, housing, and regeneration priorities.

As the Planning Consultant Lead, you’ll lead multi-disciplinary teams, manage complex stakeholder relationships, and oversee financial planning to ensure value for money. Your leadership will shape governance structures, guide evidence commissioning, and ensure effective stakeholder engagement and public consultation. Representing the region at national forums, you’ll advocate for investment and policy support, helping to unlock the North East’s full potential.
