We're looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join our Fintech team here at N Brown. As a member of the Castle project team, you'll be at the heart of a unique and exciting venture to assemble a new financial services platform. As a Senior AWS Platform Engineer you'll drive scalable cloud-based infrastructure and deliver innovative support with robust automation and monitoring systems, while collaborating to design secure, resilient architectures. What will you do as a Senior Platform Engineer?
Develop and maintain a scalable, resilient, cloud-based infrastructure using an Infrastructure as Code approach. Provide automation, tooling and cloud infrastructure support to squads. Undertake the provision of infrastructure-level monitoring and alerting to assist with operational support and troubleshooting for platforms and services. Contribute to the design of secure, scalable and resilient platform architecture, that supports continuous improvement. Ensure high availability/disaster recovery processes are built as per the Disaster Recovery/Resilience policy. Be a key contributor/reviewer in the creation and updating of knowledge/runbooks to assist others in supporting/problem solving to reduce key person dependencies. Undertake complex problem solving to get to the root cause of platform related issues, sharing knowledge and expertise with platform engineers to build their skills.
What experience are we looking for?
AWS eg API Gateway/Lambdas/Cognito/S3/DynamoDB. IaC, specifically Terraform. Continuous Integration/deployment eg Gitlab CI, Azure DevOps. Containerisation eg Docker. Monitoring and alerting tooling eg Grafana/Kibana/Cloudwatch. Governance and security administration, eg IAM, vault key management. Configuration management tools, ideally Puppet. Cloud cost management and optimisation. Multipurpose programming language, preferably Python. Lifecycle management eg Jira, Azure DevOps. DevOps methodology.
