The Position

We’re looking for passionate technologists, good communicators and those with a commitment to continuous improvement to manage the delivery of a group of engineers. You can represent your team, and contribute to the management of the team's structure, software, and technical deliverables. You partner with your engineers and leadership to define a vision and tenets that communicate how your team makes decisions. You’ll own your software, helping define solutions to problems while mitigating long-term risks. You’ll raise and help mitigate blockers while keeping leadership in the loop.

Some of your responsibilities

• Foster a safe, inclusive environment that drives a high-performing team culture.
• Host team ceremonies such as stand-ups, retros and refinements to provide clear direction on work priorities.
• Coordinate prompt and effective remediation of production incidents, keeping relevant stakeholders informed with clear and timely updates.
• Manage a team of Platform Engineers working on delivering impactful technology solutions to a wide variety of stakeholders.
• Work cross-functionally to align priorities, manage dependencies and remove blockers - ensuring technical solutions align with broader engineering and business strategy.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience leading platform engineering (or similar) teams focused on infrastructure, developer tooling, and platform capabilities.
• Experience managing performance, coaching team members, and supporting their personal development.
• People management, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
• Experience managing or being a part of DevOps Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering teams.
• Working with AWS, Terraform, and has experience scripting is also a plus

Location

Our Scottish tech hub is based in central Edinburgh and is fitted with fabulous amenities including a Gym, showers, bike parking, gaming pods, multiple breakout areas, meeting rooms, a roof terrace and much more. We operate a hybrid model for the majority of our roles, where we normally spend a day or two in the office per week.
