Overview

We are currently recruiting for a PMO Assurance Manager to join the PMO team on a full time, permanent basis, reporting into the PMO Manager. This role plays a critical oversight role in ensuring that a project is being delivered correctly, according to standards, and is likely to meet its objectives. Acts as an independent reviewer and advisor to ensure the project remains on track, and within governance. This role is hybrid, with most time spent at home, but you will be required to attend an office for team meetings and collaboration, so you must be open to travel. The PMO is a service provided to all projects within Sysco GB; as a service provider, the working pattern is full time. Working hours may need to be extended when business needs arise (e.g., major project go-live or workshops).

Responsibilities

• Ensure projects that support strategic goals have the best chance of successful implementation.
• Develop and maintain the Annual Health Assessment/Assurance Plan.
• Deliver portfolio, programme and project health assessments/assurance.
• Record and track improvement areas identified during assessments/assurance.
• Identify improvement trends across the portfolio and design new ways of working to maintain project health.
• Understand projects’ contribution to strategic goals and enterprise risks to assess health of strategic goals.
• Provide guidance to the project team during health assessments and delivery of improvement activities.
• Provide reporting for individual health checks.
• Enable Programme and Portfolio reporting that aggregates project health checks to communicate portfolio health and identify trends to drive improvement.
• Ensure projects are in the best place before moving onto the next stage.
• Promote best practice and upskill the organisation in delivering projects.
• Plan and conduct project health assessments in line with the annual plan and ensure follow-up actions are completed.
• Use data insights and health assessment findings to identify trends or gaps in how we manage projects across Sysco GB.

About you

• Proven experience in a project assurance/project auditing role and experience working as a Project Manager or extensive knowledge of the project environment.
• Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft suite (Excel, SharePoint, etc.) and a passion for data-driven decision making.
• Ability to influence others and collaborate with high emotional intelligence to achieve successful outcomes.
• Strong communication skills to manage internal stakeholders and present information clearly.
• Ability to understand the bigger picture and how factors impact the future vision of PMO, while meeting tight deadlines with excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
