You will play a critical leadership role, overseeing project standards, governance processes, reporting, resource coordination, and capability development.
Working closely with programme leaders, operational teams, and executive stakeholders, you will ensure consistency and control across the entire project portfolio, supporting risk mitigation, change management, and schedule assurance.
Key Responsibilities

- Define, implement, and continuously improve the project governance framework and reporting structure.
- Chair and oversee the Change Control process and Approval Board.
- Ensure rigorous compliance with risk management, financial control of risk release, and project standards.
- Provide regular reports to executive leadership and the Audit & Risk Committee on project status, risks, and performance.
Project Standards & Methodologies
- Develop and embed a consistent project delivery methodology including templates, tools, and lifecycle stages.
- Manage portfolio dashboards and integrated reporting.
- Lead Gate Reviews across all key lifecycle phases.
Portfolio Management & Resource Coordination
- Approve and prioritise resource allocation through a central Portfolio Board.
- Support capacity planning and scheduling through close collaboration with delivery teams and the Master Scheduler.
- Act as escalation point for project risks, issues, and delivery concerns.
Capability Building & Leadership
- Build PMO capability through coaching, training, and supporting project professionals and business leads.
- Line manage PMO team members (e.g. Risk and Change Manager, Master Scheduler).
- Promote a delivery-focused, collaborative culture across programmes and functions.
Strategic Leadership
- Shape the strategic vision of the PMO, ensuring alignment with NautIQ’s business goals and growth ambitions.
- Drive continuous improvement in project delivery discipline and maturity.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Proven leadership experience in a PMO or large-scale programme environment.
- Strong understanding of project governance, risk management, change management, and scheduling.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, working across functions and leadership levels.
- Effective communicator with strong analytical, organisational, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in project management and reporting tools, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, MSP, MoR, or equivalent.
- Experience within engineering, marine, or complex manufacturing sectors.
- Experience of portfolio management and resource governance.
- Knowledge of regulatory, industry, and compliance standards relevant to project delivery.
