PMO Programme Planner

An interim opportunity is available for a Programme Management Office (PMO) Programme Planner based in the Future Capability Team in Bristol or Castle Donington for 12 months, subject to review.

Reporting to the Future Capability Programme Lead, you will have a crucial role in the strategic planning and prioritisation of research, development and roll out programmes within National Grid Electricity Distribution. You will work closely with the team and other stakeholders to:

As part of our hybrid working approach this role offers a mix of office and home working. This is a full-time role, but flexibility in working pattern may be considered. Occasional Travel may be needed to other locations.

Main Responsibilities

Ideal Candidate

To be successful you will have proven experience in a programme planning or project management role within the utilities or energy sector, ideally within a capital projects department and within electricity distribution. You’ll have strong analytical skills, with the ability to gather, analyse and interpret data to support decision making. You’ll have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. management skills and be able to communicate effectively with range of colleagues of differing seniority.

A degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Operations, Economics, Business administration or equivalent level of education is preferred but not essential as equal weighting will be given to equivalent experience..

You’ll have a proficiency in Project Management tools and software (e.g.. Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
