Brief Description
We are looking for a dynamic leader to join our Whole Industry team as a Partnership Policy and Engagement Lead. The role will drive engagement and policy development at a senior level across Mayoral Strategic Authorities (MSA) and the rail industry, building strong and trusting relationships to foster positive change and support government rail reform and GBR.
What You’ll Bring
- A strong understanding of local government structures and ways of working, particularly mayoral authorities, including development and implementation of local transport policies.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact and maintain credibility with people at all levels across the business and external partners.
- Ability to design and deliver effective engagement strategies across organisations with diverse views and perspectives.
- Proven capability to lead fast-paced cross-sector policy or strategy development across teams and organisations (preferably in the rail or local government sector).
- Ability to work across teams to secure wider input from internal experts who are nominated to support this project.
- Proven ability to synthesise complex information, identify risks and opportunities, and communicate these matters clearly and succinctly.
- Ability to leverage existing networks to maximise role outcomes.
- Highly organised and able to manage multiple pressures at the same time.
- Educated to degree level or relevant professional qualifications/experience.
Contract and Location
This role is available on a fixed-term contract / secondment basis for up to 24 months. Although advertised externally, internal applicants are welcome. The role is based in London with flexibility to travel; hybrid working is supported where possible.
