About the Team

The Policy Team interacts with global, regional and national policy and regulation and engages with standards and frameworks within the CDP ecosystem. It formulates, oversees and implements CDP’s policy program plan.

About this role

The postholder supports the Chief Policy and Projects Officer with the day-to-day management of the Policy and Projects function and on key strategic projects. The Policy and Projects Coordinator collaborates across the global organization, works with Chiefs of Staff, and coordinates across functions to deliver flagship campaigns and events. Typical events include major global events such as the UNFCCC COPs, Climate Weeks, and the G20 sustainable finance working groups. They ensure coherence, clarity, and timeliness across event outputs by managing workflows, timelines, and quality control of materials including strategy documents, briefings, and mission reports.

What you will do

  • Work with the Chief Policy and Projects Officer to support on key strategic projects requiring priority delivery.
  • Contribute to longer-term strategic projects and partnerships; represent Policy and Projects in internal working groups and committees.
  • Respond to inbound opportunities presented internally or by third parties.
  • Support the Chief Policy and Projects Officer with aspects of managing the ongoing strategy for the team and act as trusted advisor.
  • Provide quality control of briefings for events and projects; review materials for clarity, factual accuracy, formatting, and alignment with CDP positioning before sign-off.
  • Own miscellaneous policy inputs (e.g., letters of support, partner policy asks, or joint statements) to ensure CDP input is coordinated and reviewed.
  • Support policy project implementation, including SharePoint management; develop best-practice decks for projects (e.g., implementation plans, kick-offs); coordinate M&E inputs.
  • Coordinate with the M&C team for CDP events to ensure policy messaging is reflected in public communications.
  • Work with thematic leads to ensure integrated strategies between policy campaigns and CDP mission are presented to Leadership.
  • Triage day-to-day requests and project updates; support prioritisation in consultation with the Chief Policy and Projects Officer.
  • Document processes for escalation and provide adequate information for decision-making.
  • Review key priorities with the Chief Policy and Projects Officer and support delegation of tasks within the function.
  • Participate in the CDP-wide Chiefs of Staff group to align ways of working across functions.
  • Act as a liaison between Policy and Projects and other functions to ensure coordination of day-to-day activities and broader strategy.
  • Represent the Chief Policy and Projects Officer internally and identify opportunities for collaboration and support.
  • Represent the Policy and Projects team in internal meetings and discussions, and at external events including speaking engagements and committees.

We’re looking for

  • Good knowledge of CDP’s major events.
  • Ability to manage projects in a not-for-profit setting.
  • Ability to design effective policy engagement strategies.
  • Expertise in cross-thematic topics on finance (e.g., transition finance, climate and nature finance, including adaptation and resilience).
  • Ability to monitor and digest large volumes of information and communicate succinctly and strategically.
  • Good understanding of CDP and its mission.
  • Ability to work independently with some guidance.
  • Contributes to process improvements.
  • Communication, listening and empathy.

Salary and benefits

The salary banding for this role is £53,629 - £67,036/year, 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, generous non-contributory pension provision, Employee Assistance Programme, life assurance, training and development, flexible working opportunities and other benefits. Final offer amount depends on factors such as experience, location, total compensation, and market data. This is a permanent, mid to senior level role based at CDP’s London office. Applicants must be eligible to work in the UK and be able to commute to the London office with 2 days in the office per week. We cannot sponsor this role.
